I offer 1:2:1 classes and small group workshops covering many aspects of photography which will be tailored to suit your needs from beginner to advanced. We will start by looking at how to control your camera using the correct Aperture, ISO & Shutter Speed according to the subject and conditions. These three settings are the fundamentals of photography and each one has an influence on the other. An understanding of these will not only allow you to achieve technically correct images but will also allow you to become more creative in your approach to photography.

Composition is another important aspect of photography. If you understand the principles you will instantly learn how to take better pictures regardless of what equipment you may have, even with a phone! Photography is all about capturing light, so you will learn how to see natural light and use it creatively to take better photographs.

As time permits, we will also cover other aspects such as white balance and understanding your histogram and any other topics you may be having difficulty with.

If however you already have a good understanding of your camera and it's settings and just want to be taken and shown some fantastic photography locations then look no further.

I have been photographing the Lake District and North Yorkshire for many years now and have vast knowledge about when and where to take photographs and all the best locations.

I know the best places to take photographs regardless of the season, weather and water levels and have gained this knowledge over the years and hundreds of visits exploring these beautiful areas.

I know the Lake District and the North Yorkshire Coast like the back of my hand and this will be of great benefit to everybody who joins me on my landscape photography workshops.

​My 1-2-1 tuition days take place predominantly in the Lake District or on the North Yorkshire Coast.

​

I also offer private tuition days for two people who would like their partner to attend or a friend to join in.

Price per person is £225 for 6 hours

Price for 2 people is £325 for 6 hours
